“I started diving
in college, taking scuba as a PE course at the University of
Missouri. I did a little fresh water quarry diving there and then
forgot about diving for about 18 years. In 1988, I did a resort
dive and two fresh water dives while on a Caribbean cruise and that
rekindled my interest. I began my scuba education in earnest in
1990. My family picked up my interest and by 1993, my wife and two
boys were certified and by 1994 I was a dive master. We enjoyed a
lot of diving together during that time.
Business and
other family activities caused the diving activity to slow down a
lot and I stopped dive mastering, but continued to dive
recreationally when the opportunity arose. Now I’m retired with a
lot of time on my hands. Diving and helping others to dive seems
like a great way to spend my time.”
